MH434 scoops top Goodwood Revival prize

In its 75th anniversary year, the Old Flying Machine Company’s famed Spitfire IX, MH434, claimed the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation Concours d’Elegance prize at the Goodwood Revival meeting held from 7-9 September.

The combat veteran fighter, a Revival regular since the first event 20 years ago, had previously placed second in the concours but never won it until now. It beat off stiff competition from the likes of the Aircraft Restoration Company’s newly restored Westland Lysander, which was making its public debut at the event.
